Congratulations Austen Apigo (PhD candidate) for being selected for the 2021 MSA (Mycological Society of America) Graduate Student Fellowship for his research investigating cryptic foliar endophytic fungi in litter decomposition! He is also a recipient of the UC President's Dissertation Year Fellowship! Austen has contributed to numerous initiatives (often self-started) to increase diversity at UCSB and EEMB. One of his initiatives is the Data Analysis and Coding Club (DANC). It is such a great privilege to have Austen in our EEMB community! Congratulations Austen!
