Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! We all took a break from the lab for the holidays - some better deserved than others. Jake finished his Master's thesis! Yesenia and Kaylenefbecame lab alums and we welcome a new grad student, Gabe, and new lab assistant, Angela. Gabe will be working on the Big Cone Douglas Fir microbiome and Angela will be working on a project newly funded by the Coastal Fund to explore metabarcoding of the seed bank, among many other projects. Ryoko, uncharacteristically, took a non-work-related vacation to the non-family habitat of Hawaii, but she did study up on some cool fungi (and slime molds), some not found on the mainland, so it was sort of a mini-sabbatical.
